CONDO & APARTMENT REKEY
If your condo/ apartment have only one or two locks – it may be cheaper and more decorative to replace the existing hardware with a new one. Most big box stores stock lock brands hardware that can be purchased for about $20 or less (set of 2 locks).
FRENCH DOORS & SCREEN DOOR LOCKS
In many homes, the security door locks and french door locks are often harder to remove and requires some experience. Also, replacement hardware is more expensive than standard hardware, this is why a locksmith will need to travel to your home anyway, and it’s better to just rekey all the locks and not replace some of them.
If your house has more than 8 locks, it may be hard to find new locks with matching keys and you will end up rekeying half or more of the locks anyway. If this is the case and your locks are still useable, contact a local locksmith.
